Placing an order

Orders can be placed using the following methods:

  • Online: Orders can be placed anytime via our website. If you are a new customer, you must register before completing your purchase. Your registration will be reviewed and approved by a team member at bit.bio. An immediate confirmation will be provided upon submission of your order. For detailed instructions, please refer to the Online orders guide. If you are submitting a Purchase Order (PO), please also submit a New Customer Form.
  • Email: Purchase orders (PO) should be sent to orders@bit.bio. If you require a quotation before placing your PO, please contact us directly or your bit.bio Account Manager. We will aim to process your PO within 1 business day from receipt.
  • Distributors: Orders can also be placed through our authorised distributors or on procurement platforms such as Science Exchange or Scientist.com. Please find a list of our official distributors and their coverage here. If your organisation uses a supplier portal, we are happy to integrate with your systems. Please contact us by filling out a form to start the setup process. 

Payment methods

We accept the following payment methods:

  • Credit/debit cards: Payment can be processed online during checkout.
  • Purchase Orders (PO): Available for pre-approved institutions. First-time customers must complete a New Customer Form, which includes a credit rating check.
  • Pro-forma invoice: Payment instructions will be provided upon request. Orders will be processed once payment is confirmed.

Volume pricing and bulk orders

When purchasing 10 or more packs of any product, a 10% discount will automatically be added to your order at checkout. No discount codes or quotes required.

For large orders for >100 vials, bulk purchasing options and pricing are available. Contact your Account Manager or fill out the form for details on pricing, availability, and lead times.

VAT & tax information

  • VAT: All prices displayed on the website do not include VAT. Customers in the UK must pay VAT unless a valid exemption certificate is provided.
  • Tax exemption: Customers must submit the necessary documentation at the time of purchase for VAT exemption.

Account registration

Do I need to register on bit.bio to place an order online?

Yes, registration is required. You can register at bit.bio/registration.

 

How do I register?

Visit bit.bio/registration and complete the sign-up form. We aim to review your account application and respond within 1 business day. If we have any questions regarding your application, we will contact you directly by email.

Once your registration is approved, you can simply log in anytime to place your order and/or manage previous orders.

 

What information is required for registration?

On the registration form, our team will request details about yourself, your institution and delivery information.

If you would like to place your order using a Purchase Order (PO), you will be requested to provide some financial details in our New Customer Form.

 

If I am registered, can I place an order immediately?

Once your account is approved, you can place your order immediately.

 

Ordering and quotations

How can I get a quotation?

If you require a quotation before placing your PO, please fill out a form, or contact us directly at orders@bit.bio or simply email your Account Manager.

 

Do you offer discounts for academic institutions?

We have some special academic pricing; please contact us by filling out this form or by email at orders@bit.bio to request your quotation.

 

How do I apply my discount code?

I am a distributor; how can I distribute your products?

We are open to expanding our global distributor network. Please contact us at sales@bit.bio with your company details, regional coverage, and distribution experience. Our team will review your inquiry and respond regarding potential partnership opportunities.

 

Licensing, ethics and restrictions

Can service providers and Contract Research Organisation (CRO) purchase ioCells?

ioCells can be purchased by service providers and CROs to provide services to their clients.

 

Are there any restrictions on the use of ioCells (e.g. related to genetic research, use in animals or derivation of cell lines)?

ioCells are intended for Research Use Only (RUO).

ioCells must not be used in or administered to human subjects, used in clinical trials, or used for diagnostic purposes involving human subjects. Any use outside of the defined research purposes is strictly prohibited.

Additionally, ioCells are not to be used in animals for veterinary therapeutic, diagnostic, or prophylactic purposes, including but not limited to clinical applications, cell therapy, transplantation, and/or regenerative medicine without an appropriate license.

What ethical guidelines apply to bit.bio’s cell sourcing?

bit.bio follows an internal due diligence process, including a thorough assessment of the information supplied for a given cell line, strictly aligned with UK and EU legislation, including the Human Tissue Act and the EU Tissue and Cells Directive. This process includes a thorough assessment of information supplied for all sourced cell lines.

 

Do I need specific permits to use bit.bio’s ioCells in research or clinical applications?

ioCells are intended for Research Use Only (RUO).

ioCells must not be used in or administered to human subjects, used in clinical trials, or used for diagnostic purposes involving human subjects. Any use outside of the defined research purposes is strictly prohibited.

Shipping, tracking & returns

What is the lead time for my order?

After you receive an order confirmation, your products typically arrive within 1-5 business days, depending on your location.

 

How do I track my order?

You will receive a shipping confirmation email containing a tracking link. If you need assistance whilst tracking your order, please contact us.

 

Are there any restrictions on receiving orders in the United States (US)?

bit.bio stock is stored in a US-based storage facility, ensuring fast delivery with minimal restrictions.

 

Are there any restrictions on receiving orders in Europe?

bit.bio stock is stored in an EU-based storage facility, ensuring fast delivery across Europe.

 

Can you assist me if my order requires an import license?

Customers are responsible for acquiring the necessary import licenses for their territory. However, we can connect you with a specialised agent to assist with the process.

 

Can I place an order before obtaining the required imported licenses?

Orders can be placed prior to obtaining all imported licenses, but please note that your order will be held until the required licenses are obtained. 

 

Are there any additional taxes or fees?

Import duties and taxes may apply depending on your country’s import regulations.

 

How are the orders shipped?
